The reason you are seeing a much bigger performance jump than reviews, is because your test suite is almost entirely titles that were sponsored by and/or favor Nvidia hardware. Zero Dawn stock vs stock shows how the gap closes in an AMD sponsored title. The fact you aren't getting 60 locked at max native in some of those older games, on a $1000 card is kind of depressing too.

But hey, if you are happy with your purchase, I'm happy for you.

I appreciate any testing of older games or that goes off the beaten path of the big reviewers who tend to have a strong recency bias or include technically demanding games that no one actually plays.

Out of curiosity, what was the testing methodology for getting these numbers? I know some of these games definitely come with a built in benchmark, but others don't.

I tested all games in gameplay except crysis remastered(GPU benchmark.bat 4K+TAA, can it run crysis preset, no motion blur) and Metro Exodus benchmark(4k Extreme preset)
And why i tested those games?Well they are my favorites or i wanted play them since i got 48" LG C1 oled 2years ago and 6800XT didnt cut it.Like control.
Tomb raider 2013 Have only FXAA or SSAA and SSAA looks so much better. But 6800XT was not fast enough for it.Now i can finally replay it in 4K with 4X SSAA on OLED.
Same with Rise of Tomb raider.DLSS looks even better than 4x SSAA from my testing(i swapped newest 3.5.10 dll) so i can replay it in "ultimate quality" on 4K oled.
Not to mention things like RTX HDR which looks so much better than Auto HDR in win11.

So 80-90% more performance in this user's preferred games for 100%+ higher price. I guess that's fine considering the OP was clearly aiming for a high budget TV gaming build. Let us all hope the OP doesn't have to increase their spending by another 50%+ to get the next generational performance GPU upgrade.

Meanwhile the 6800XT and 7800XT remain some of the most value oriented cards in the non-value market of today. It's been more than a year since I decided to skip Ada / RDNA3 entirely and go with the 6800XT, and I never looked back.

Its really not 100%+ higher price.1000/650USD MSRP is 53% more. And in my country it cost 45% more when i compare how much i paid(6800XT day1 18.11 2020 buy 18999 czech crown and 4080super 27690 czech crown). Not to mention i got it fo "free".I buy it from money from mining on my 6800XT in last 3 years:D

The cheapest 6800XT in US is $460-520 while the cheapest 4080 Super is $1060. That's 104-130% more. The 7800XT is also at $500. (both market price and MSRP)

If you want to compare MSRP then the fair comparison would be $650 versus $1200, or 85% more. It's not like the 4080 Super is a new generation card with brand new pricing, they're just adjusting prices the same way RDNA2 got lower prices over time, seeing the 6800XT go down from $650 to $500 and under.

You could have gotten it as a present from a very generous aunt, it still would not have changed the value of the card and more importantly, the pricing trajectory of GPUs overall.
