2 notches donw??? I read somewhere that a x800 xt is only PIC-Express while the x800xt pe is agp and PCI-Express. Plus i dont consider those two cards very much different. The ultra and the extreme cards arent that different either. there just clocked higher. I believe that the extreme was released because nvidia was afraid from the performance from the x800 series. I do agree that there should have been a x800 xt pe to compare with. I also agree that everyone should stop fighting and just wait. And why cant we all just agree that ATI and Nvidia both release excellent cards and that buying either one wont really matter because the differences are at high frames per second.

Is that ture?

I heard
XT/pe to compete w ultra
XT to compete w GT
crippled pro to compete w crippled 6800

that makes two notches down.

I guess it depends on how you look at it Zebo. The MSRP on the 6800NU is $300, the MSRP on the X800Pro is $400., they are both 12 pipe cards though.

This is how it goes i am almost certain:
x800xt/pe 16 pipes VS 6800 ultra/extreme pipes
x800 pro 12 pipes VS 6800 GT 16 pipes
x800 se 8 pipes (if ATI makes this card) VS 6800 non ultra 12 pipes (go to newegg.com there way over priced 370!!!)

Approx. 50dba at 2 feet. Major hurricaine, not for my taste, but the water cooled flavours look interesting if not too pricey. :wine:

This reminds me of IQ tests::p

The GT is to ____ like the XT is to XT/PE.

Ultra, since the GT just an underclocked part wih full functionality just like XT is.

Pro is crippled XT/xtpe just like the 6800 is a crippled GT/ultra.

Either way, pro's at LEAST one notch down and as I've argued two notches, making this review is extremly bias.

Comparing a flagship product to a non-flagship product is invalid. Besides, the 6800U is only barely faster than the X800 Pro in Far Cry and we know the XT is a lot faster than the Pro in that game.

I guess that would be ATIs fault, not Hexus, as he said he has six different 6800Us?
That isn't terribly relevant.

Did you see this:

NVIDIA don't seem to have done much to the reference 5950 Ultra cooler for the NV40 reference cooler (which at least ASUS are adopting). It's quite noisy at full speed, but it does slow down in 2D mode to much more tolerable levels. It sounds, to my deaf old ears, to be ~50dBA from a couple of feet away at ear height in 3D mode.

Not the quitest cooler in the world, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it Dustbuster 2.0 either. Annoying at times on my test bed, I'm keen to see what partners do with the cooler.
