Ok im fixing to ordering everything for comp, and Im building it for exmapability later, il ike the idea of just buygin the same model card a yr down the rd (when its cheaper) and making it SLI instea dof buying a brand new card. so im doing SLI.

BUT, should I get a 6800GT pcie, or jump on a 6800U pcie when I can get my hand on one? i really cant choose, id have to wait for a 6800U pcie, and pay top freaking dollar. how long do you think that 2 6800GT pcie on SLI will hold up on good graphics? year? more? I love paying on high end graphic modes, but want smooth frame rates......

errr choices....

I'd just go for the 6800GT....I have one (AGP though) and it runs at Ultra speeds with no problems. Even if it didn't, I don't think the minimal performance differences are worth the extra $100 (or probably a lot more when you're looking at PCI-E).

Adding a second one in SLI should be awesome. 🙂

I wish I had the money to spend on an SLI setup. 😛

6800gt without a question. The Ultra is overpriced for the performance gain you will receive and once you move to an SLI set-up, even FX-55 chips will have you CPU limited.

I would go with the GT even if you arnt gonna oc, the ultra's price is not worth its slight performance gain over the GT.
