6800NU

Yeah iknow i answer these questions too but it is much easier if it isn't impacting your wallet.

I am looking at the BFG6800OC at Outpost. However i THOUGHT i would be able to make it to CompUSA and get the PNY for $200. Now i have to spend an extra $50.

I have a couple concerns.

1. Would it be i my interest to wait for the refresh cards to come out and get a better deal.

2. I really want to look towards the future and get a 256mb card.

3. I really wanted to get something with GDDR3. I wanted to get an LE and softmod it to a GT/Ultra but they done seem to have those cards (i cant find them).

The main question would be is it better to wait and see what happens or get the outpost one.

(Oh yeah since i cant make it to CompUSA will the rebate still work if i get up at like 6:00AM and just order it online?)

Yes, i know. But i simply cant get there it is too far away to drive to.

Well it is pretty much double the speed of my 5900XT. However, will i be pretty CPU limited. Im only running a AXP 2500+ @ 2GHZ, with 1gb Dual DDR using Soundstorm. Should i look at A64 and Nforce 4 before i look at a video card?

With my system specs, I can run ANYTHING smoothly with all (or most) of the eye candy on @ 1280x1024.

So yes, it's worth it.

dont forget ... evga 6800nu at microcenter for 240$
or if there is a store close by that sells the pny 6800nu you could try getting that price matched.

They won't price match the CompUSA deal. Just think of all the stores that would have to deal with Black Friday price matches... >_<
