6800nu with VF700 but no RAM heatsinks

I recently put my VF700 on my 6800nu. Temps have dropped at least 10f degrees(60 to 50 idle...have not tested load temps yet). I did not have the original ramsinks included with the heatsink. I attempted to use some thermaltake heatsinks, but they just fell off (useless item, adhesive compound was horrible...returning it).

So, my 6800nu is currently running with just the VF700 and no ram heatsinks.

Will the card be OK like this, or do I need to get ramsinks?

I still have my ASUS V9999GT 128mb which is a 6800GT on a 6800 PCB, it doesn't have ramsinks on its memory which runs at 700mhz instead of 1000mhz like a 256mb model.

I would assume that the 6800 should be fine with out any ramsinks, since it is pretty much identical to my V9999GT with the exception of the GPU which is a full blown 16 pipe 350mhz 6800GT.

I've seen many higher end cards with faster RAM that have no RAM sinks. Offten times the HSF that comes on the card isn't even touching the vidoe RAM.

You'll be fine. I ran the same setup for a while, unlocked and overclocked.

GDDR doesn't generate too much heat. I have had a 6600GT with no ramsinks for last 2 and half years.
