Hi guys. :)

Ok, there was a topic in HD some time ago about the 6800LE on sale on Newegg for 325 dollars. I found a way to get my BFG6800OC sold for 280 dollars, but didn't do it yet. Today I check on Nwegg, but they stopped selling the card. I checked on ZipZoomFly, and they have it for 350 dollars plus free 2 day shipping. In the end, i will end up spending $100 to trade a 6800NU for an LE. Is this worth it? Do you guys have any unsatisfactory experiences with them. Also, the LE is an "underclocked Ultra." Are they garuanteed to reach Ultra speeds?

Any posts are appreciated. Thanks for the help.

I can guarantee only one thing.. there are no guarantees. Seriously though, in the whole huge thread, seems like 50 people have had great success vs 1 or 2 who had bad luck. Thats good odds even for standard hardware these days. As for it being a good value, I have no clue. If you have money to waste, sure, go for it.. if you are on a budget, then mm no, its better to eat food instead :p

get the 6800 LE. its definitely worth it if you can hit ultra speeds stabily. as for the 16x burner, wait a little while since they only get better and cheaper. :)

btw, awesome sig man. :D

Heh, thx man. Has anyone ever had any problems or anything with ZipZoomFly? I've never ordered from them, and they look kind of "not-as-trustable-as-newegg," lol. I don't really understand what is the deal with this Limited Edition. eVGA doesn't really advertise it on their site. It looks kind of unofficial. What do you guys say?

ZipZoomFly cares about every order. They called after placing the order and then before it was sent out to be shipped both times to confirm my order on a 6800nu. Definitely something NO other retailer had ever done... Made them very reputable in my mind.

Anyhow, would I be able to "Step-Up" my eVGA 6800nu for a 6800LE? I haven't seen them retail off the eVGA site...

well these Limited Editions just seem to be that. They don't even have their own boxes, just come in Ultra or GT boxes with the LE sticker on top of the Ultra or GT. So doubt evga will be sending out more once this lot is gone.

As for a dvd burner or a better vid card, if you already have a burner (even a 2x or 4x) then don't bother, you can always leave the comp when it is burning but you can't do that when you are palying a game.

btw I ordered from ZZF yesterday and got my tracking number today, should be here tomorrow so they are on the ball.

I don't really care too much about the "stepping up." However, if I had to spend 120 dollars extra to spend on the LE, would i see a difference in games? That's all I care about.
Thanks,

"See" a difference? Depends on what resolution and settings you run... higher settings would give a bigger visual difference. In some cases it may be a large perfomance/benchmark gain.. but can you really see the difference in 75FPS and 90FPS at lower resolutions?

You could also check http://www.resellerratings.com if you're worries about a particular online computer vendor. Zipzoomfly.com has one of the best ratings and are in the top with Newegg.com

Thanks, I've checked those in the past. So, what would be the best way to sell my BFG 6800OC if not to a friend, I can probably sell him it for 280 with some software included. Is that good?

Well considering that Bestbuy is selling them for $ 249.99. Damn 280 is a SWEET deal if you can get it!

chinkgai, he wanted something else, my doom 3 copy. So its my BFG6800OC + Doom 3 for 270, he says now. I will probably buy it from ZZF. Btw, i bought it for 325 like a couple months ago, so it's not really a rip off. He says hes lookin for FarCry for 25 shipped. PM me if you want to sell ur FarCry.

do you mean a 6800 limited edition? the 6800LE is an 8-pipeline version of the 6800 series, and therefore would be a step down.

If its an LE6800 and not a 6800LE then id go for it. It's $70 and u seem like ud use the extra power.

alot of ppl who got the LE6800 from ZZF claim they came @ 325/700 and would get artifacts with anything above.. they have RMA'd to eVGA.. read the eVGA LE 6800 thread for more info

GT off the line is more powerful then the LE. If you have a good GT, LE can hit Ultra speeds, even surpass them accourding to a friend of mine whos OC'ed his to R430 core speeds, but its just a matter how much you like toys that do the same thing =\

rofl. its because he only as so much to spend, and is wondering if he should use that money on a burner or sell his 6800 and use the money all together to buy an LE. problem is, he doesnt know how to overclock and is worried about a good overclock on the card. since the LE's are all gone, he's gonna spend the money on the burner or something else. :) i know because i know him personally.
