6800k VS 7700k

How's it going, this computer will be used for streaming and gaming, if I go with the 7700 I could get a 1080 card but with the 6800 it will be a 1070. Any idea what would be better? Thanks a lot.

7700k if it gets you the GTX 1080, also for gaming with it appears the 4 stronger cores will still beat out a 6800k.

The 6800k is laughably underclocked at stock just like the 5820k was.

I run my 5820k at ~4.2GHz and stock on it is 3.3GHz.

That said, the 7700k also OC's a fair bit as well, so it will still have the stronger cores, but if you are streaming those two extra cores can be nice to have.

If you dont need super high quality streaming however you can use the 7700k's iGPU for encoding your video for streaming, whereas the 6800k doesn't have an iGPU and you would need to use CPU encoding, or have another GPU available for GPU encoding.

For simplicity sake, the 7700k is probably the better option.

I would like the stream to be high quality and I will oc both processors, would a 6800k be a better choice then? Thank you.

I have to second the 7700K. Plus you won't have to spend as much on an X99 motherboard and buy Quad-Channel ram. Cheaper Z270 board with a nice dual-channel kit of ram.

I'd probably buy a 7700k even though i'm not really fond of cpu's that run really hot. Compared to a 6800k it's a scorcher.
7700k is also the only cpu to support 10bit 4k at this time.

I also have the option of getting a 5820k with a 1080 for the same price as the 7700k with a 1080. Will that be a better option, thanks a lot. Just worried that the 7700k will make streaming on twitch difficult while gaming.
