Found this on Ebay....... I guess some of their higher end systems come with these and people are pulling them and selling them on ebay.

The GTO is basically an underclocked version of the GT with a PCIe bus. Dell had to underclock it so they could sell em for lower prices. You should wait a month for PCIe versions of all Geforce 6 cards (6800, 6800GT, 6800ULTRA) to come out in PCIe before making decisions though.

Yeah, But I'm just asking..Don't know if anyone's heard anything about them..
- The only thing that looks underclocked is the Mem speed 100Mhz under 6800GT for AGP, might be something to look into.

You should read this thread about the GTO. Aside from the slower core and memory speed, it also only has 12 pipelines and 5 shaders enabled. However I and many others were able to activate all 16 pipelines and 6 shaders, and overclocking is pretty easy (except for me, apparently).

so basically they are selling vanilla 6800, and naming it something that "happens" to sound almost like it is a GT. That doesn't sound at all misleading... Grrrr, way to sell top-notch PC equipment, Dull.

Anyone who's successfully unlocked your pipes on the 6800 GTO:

Can you provide your BIOS information/dump? Looks like the latest crop of Dell 8400s shipped from Dell cannot be hardware unmasked. My BIOS revision is 5.40.02.17.15.

Thanks.

My bios is 5.40.02.17.15, and I successfully unlocked the 4 pipes and 1 shader. However, I have not been able to overclock the card at all.
