6800GT Stock Heatsink

I am trying to put on my VF700-Cu, but the 2 of the 4 spring loaded screws on the stock heatsink won't budge. I am worried that they are getting close to becoming stripped. Any suggestions on getting this stock POS off??

i had that problem too when i wanted to take it off, but then jsut gave up.

Yeah for now I just put the stock POS back on. I hate to put this nice cooler to waste.... I want to get better temps, right now idling in the mid 50's on stock speeds.

u gotta get that zalman on! installed mine today with AS5 applied to the core.

Down from 52C idle with the stock cooler. Didnt check loads with the stock but with the zalman im getting 49C with rthdribl running for 10minutes. Also I can overclock to 430Core, 1.2ghz memory.

Yeah I know I really want to get this cooler on. Guess I need to go shopping for some pliers or try a small flat head.

lol dude dont break ur card trying to remove the screws...just get the right screwdrivers or pliers or whatever u require! dont be dejected..u just require the right equipment...the VF700-ALCU rocks!!

idk what the problem is though, when i installed mine the standard sized screwdriver worked on all the screws perfectly. lefty loosey righty tighty?? lol

You dont want to have to strip it, then have to take a dremel out on that screw!
