I really dont want a gto... so i was figuring i would see what you guys said about these two cards. I was thinking about doing the aiw gto and unlocking it... but i could also go with the nvidia and a tv tuner... lmk what you think

a 6800 GT smokes a x800 pro.
Why won't you try the GTO though??? If you can unlock it, (pretty much everyone I've heard can) it would even smoke the GT.

I've owned a 6800GT that oced to past Ultra OC speeds. I've owed a X800XT that is beyond XT-PE speeds Now just in performance perhaps smokes isn't the right term but at any rate in my experinces the XT wins in everything but Doom 3 (who cares).
Now if we factor price into the equation, which the GTO costs much less than the 6800 GT then yeah I'd say "smokes".

and if your just not surewhat smokes means it means performs better than...

do i have to get the pci e one or should i just get the agp one that will fit my mobo? throw me a linky to a decent one too please!

I am in the same situation. I realy do not feel the need to upgrade but my 2495fpw needs more video power to play games. I hate to pay for a agp card since pci-x is the way to go, but I hate to get another motherboard and cpu when I feel I really do not need it.

Yea, I do know what " smokes " means. But he is talking about a X800 Pro..Not a GTO. To me....Smokes mean's ahead of the competition by a big margin. Which it is not. Maybe stock it is ahead, Ill admit that...But I have overclocked my Pro to 574 core and 1175 memory....Which does REALLY well in the same games as the 6800 GT. Ive seen overclocked result's of a GT, and compared with my Pro...And my Pro is ahead...Or should I say " smokes the GT "

EDIT: His thread topic is 6800 GT or X800 Pro.....But he dont even mention a Pro...all about the GTO..
