i just installed a leadtek a400 6800gt a couple of weeks ago. everything works fine, except dvd playback. i mean, HL2 and guild wars play fine on maxed settings.
the problem i'm having with dvds is that the colors are running totally off - the best way i can explain it is that playing back dvds looks like they're rendering in 16 colors or less.
originally i had a 9600xt aiw installed, with mostly all of the software with it including remote wonder. i uninstalled that software via control panel and used driver cleaner pro to get the residual driver files off. after that i installed version 77.72 of the nvidida drivers. [other info, if relevant is that i'm running winxp pro w/ sp2]
another problem at first was that the 16 color display was happening with mpg and avi video files too, but enabling high quality mode in windows media player fixed that.
i tried to get a screen cap of the dvd playback from powerdvd, but the screen caps from that display all the colors perfectly fine. it's only during live playback that this happens.
i tried a bunch of things with settings, probably hte most important being disabling and enabling hardware acceleration, but it hasn't made a difference in playback quality with it on or off.
i'd appreciate anyones help/comments on this. thank!
