Was messing around last night and ran several benches at 400Mhz successfully. The temp skirts around 69C(MAX FULL LOAD) though, should I be worried about that? My average case temp is 34C. Forget overclocking?

that is low, i am getting 20,780 with a 3.2ghz overclocked to 3.41ghz. that is default settings on the video though overclocking don,t seem to help much.

un-install your drivers, use driver cleaner too.
re-install them
install direct x 9
re-install madonion
don,t use powerstrip-it messes up madonion
if overclocking, use coolbits, would download it anyhow and you can see what your video card is set at
check you advanced properties and make sure you don,t have ant-lasing, etc enabled.
disable virus protection when playing madonion

Well... if you had an ATI card I'd say don't worry about it. My friend's 9800 Pro got extremely hot and the plastic fan melted and fell off... literally... it was just chillin on his audigy below the video card. Still works though when he pointed a 6 inch fan at it.

I don't know how well nVidia cards hold up to temps... but I would assume 70 C is safe since mine starts throttle the GPU down at like 120 or 140 or somethin like that.

Pretty much... just gotta make sure you set up AA and AF and the resolution exactly how you want to use it in an actual game... if you score over 10,000 then you're most likely set.

I hit 83C with rthdrbl, granted it's only mid-seventies playing games. My fan hasn't melted.... yet.....

I've heard that 100C is the point where the card can get damaged, but this is unconfirmed.

Can anyone go through the latest Nvidia drivers and run through all the display settings to be optimized for BENCHMARKING?

I installed the newest drivers for use with my GF4Ti4200 and I was overwhelmed at all the new tweaks they allow for... but I cant get my 3Dmark01 score back up to what I used to hit, which was around 13,000 or so. Now Im floating around 11,000 and im sure its some stupid setting, but i tried them all.

What is optimal benchmarking config for all settings? no one ever really talks about that, besides the obvious stuff like AA, AF.

Hi!
I get about 23.700 in 3dmark01se and 11.800 in 3dmark03 at stock speed.

Hardware:
A64 3200+@4200+
1gb OCZ EB ram platinum
250 chipset

That does seem a bit low. I had an A64 3400 Clawhammer w/ a 9800 Pro that did just a hair over 20,000 in 3dmark01. Of course I only got like 6100 in '03. I wouldn't be too concerned though as long as your '03 score is up there.

System in my sig gets about 18.5k in '01 so your score seems fine. '01 likes a lot of cpu and the AMD's seem to do better in gaming benchs.

i installed the new beta detonators on my 6800GT.
i came from a ti4200.

with some older drivers, i was getting 13,700 or so in 3dmark01 on the ti4200.
then with newer drivers i was only getting something like 11,000.

Now I run it on my 6800GT and only get about 14,000 in 3d01, and 6600 or so in 3d03.

WHAT GIVES???

AXP-M 2400+ at 2.5ghz
512MB PC3200

Am I messing up my results with some stupid performance setting in the drivers???
Im so confused with all the new performance tweaking options in the drivers. I cant find anywhere that explains all the new sh!t and what to set it at for benchmarking...

help 🙁
