6800GT 2D Core Clock speed

Are those 3D speeds or does it not downclock by default? Mine doesn't but I just assumed that was because of BFG's factory OC.

pretty sure that the 3d and 2d clocks are the same; i dont think it would downclock.
I thought it would downclock in 2D mode like the FX cards did.

well if you are running with coolbits, then you can have two settings one for 2d and one for 3d... so when you boot it is stock, but when you run a 3d app it boosts it to whatever...

BFG's BIOS is 370core 1000mem for the GT...

hmm. i thought all card downclock for 2d work. reduces thermal output, prolongs life, slows fan down.

I know that, I was asking what the normal (not BFG OC) 2D speeds were.

I've heard that running the two clocks at different speeds leads to 2d problems.
No problems for me and the entire FX line AFAIK did this.

Yeah, my FXs do as well, but my lappy's ATI 9700 doesn't.... grrr. Why do you need to know its default 2D core speed?
I'm just wondering so I can set it to the default 2D speed to keep the fans spinning low and slow.

pretty sure they don't down clock lower than 350/1000. Alot of people with the early 6800GT's had to force thier clock speeds the same 2d and 3d if they are OCing for it to not skip in games.

I don't have a 6800GT, but I do have a 6600GT. It does slow the clock to 300 mhz for 2D, and speeds up to 500 mhz for 3D.
