I am thinking of purchasing a BFG 6800gt OC and i know it requires at least a 350watt psu i have a 480watt psu and its stable at 11.920v. I have heard you need at least 12v stable to run 6800gt's is this true? or will i be fine. I am probably also gonna overclock it probably to ultra speeds. My psu has only 15amps on the 12v rail.........

not good.

as seen here,

the 6800gt takes 3A by itself on the 12v rail and moves up to about 4A when oced. as for voltage, anywhere from 12+or- 5% or so will run it fine.
it should be amps you are concerned about. An a64 itself takes around 7Amps. your cd/dvd drives take 12v amps, hdd takes 12v amps.

get a heftier +12v power supply with at least 20A on the +12V rail.

edit: you mean you have 2 +12V rails with15A each right? otherwise your psu mush be a generic POS.

Where is it showing 11.92v? In the bios? If it says that in a software program like AsusProbe I'd be leery. Example, Asusprobe shows 11.73v on my 12v rail. Yet, it's a 420w OCZ psu rated at 30A, and the bios shows 12.xx, so I know I'm fine. 15A is a little low if you're planning on overclocking a 6800gt. If you start having problems, like crashes, or lacking performance in games then it's most definitely a power supply problem and I would upgrade then asap.
