How much difference does ps3 really make? I'm sure all the stuff ps3 does can be done on ps2 just with less efficiency (similar to ps1.4 vs. ps1.1). There's really no way to say that a new technology is important before it actually gets used in a number of games.

if I get no really good arguments on why to buy 6800GT (clocking to Ultra in that case) I'm gonna end on a Sapphire X800 XT clocking past PE. In that case, I hope 3Dc will become more used in future games.

Price performance for AGP if you can get an X800XT of some type for 400 I'd be amazed, the 6800GT can be had for around 360 for the AGP one, it's a better buy unless you can find a killer deal somewhere for of X800XT or better.

http://www.psdata.no/ps.asp?it=107756">AOpen Aeolus 6800GT 256MB</a> Price: 2763,- NOK = $432. Lousy cooler.. AOpen any good?

The AOpen and BFG are at least $50 cheaper than the next price level of the same card. Like the Gainward or PoV 6800GT are more like $570. The cheapest 6800 Ultra after BFG Tech is Club3D and XFX which is $680. And the Gainward version is $750 ++.

I know this is confusing, but it confuses me as well... Why is BFG's 6800Ultra so much cheaper than Club3D, XFX, ASUS, PoV, Gainward, PNY etc.. Is it just a 6800GT Golden Sample?

I've decided not to buy from other countries than my own of simple reasons... In case something happens and I want to use the warranty, it'll be a hell of a mess to send products here and there all over the globe. I might as well throw the $600 down the toilet. The BFG card I mention above, it's the 2nd most tempting card after the Sapphire X800XT.. The exact same price, but more features. Still slower than the X800 though, but. I'm wondering what the drawback is, since it's so cheap compared to the other 6800 Ultra's?

ATI's 3Dc compression algorythm is so good that nVidia's putting it in their upcoming G70 according to the Inquirer. It's a usable feature right now unlike SM 3.0.🙂

One problem with that Screwface:
It's a "usable" feature that is not used in any games at all, so you can't use it at all.

Beyond that, why was this thread brought back from the grave? I doubt the OP cares anymore after 4 months?
