6800 temps

Sounds pretty high. When I had my evga 6800nu it idled at ~ 52c with the stock cooler. Installed a NV5 and temps went down to 43c idle. My case temp was probably around 35c. Maybe try getting an NV5 or something. Is it unlocked and oc'ed?

Do you have the stock heatsink on it? And yes, that temp is very high for that card.

I've got a brand new EVGA 6800GT PCI-e and it idles at the same temp. and hits about 97C when running RTHDRIBL for a few minutes. I know this is a safe temp., but to me it's completely unacceptable. So I've ordered an NV Silencer 5 R2 for my card. I'm not even going to attempt an OC until I get the temps. under control.

What drivers are u using? The 77.77 reports my core at 52C. The previous drivers would report it 10 to 12 degrees higher.

WOW My Leadtek 6600gt AGP stock cooler idles at 39-40c, load=60-70c, Do 6800's run that much hotter normally? Sounds like you need to rework your case.
