I recently purchased a brand new pc and installed a couple of games Call of Duty and Wolfenstein ET to be exact. The games start with no problems and I can play these with no problems but....When I try to change the ingame graphics resolution or any graphic changes the game freezes up only once I hit the apply button. This very same problem happens whenever I try to exit a game the screen sticks forcing me to ctrl, alt+del out the game.

Graphics card is a Geforce 6800 no overclocking applied running as standard, if anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this mystery please help!!!

System Specs
3000+ Sempron
Asus Motherboard
1024mb DDR 400 Dual Channel

Ok no need for help (Not that I got any) as I fixed this problem myself.

There seems to be a conflict between XP, Asus motherboards and Nvidia graphics cards (All Geforce cards).

To fix this what I did was:-

Cleaned all graphics drivers from my machine. (Used onboard to setup)
Installed Latest Chipset Drivers.
Downloaded and installed all XP updates (Including SP2)
Removed DirectX and reverted back to 9.0b (instead of 9.0c)
Downloaded and Installed Latest Nvidia Drivers (strangely all the manufacturers drivers did'nt work)
Ran PC Rescue v1.0 + Sisoft Sandra to check for conflicts etc.
Disabled the onboard Graphic Display in bios

Everything works fine now, no problems at all and every game runs sweet as F**K.
