6800 pci-e or 6600gt for sli???

There are regular 6800 pci-e cards for about $120 more than the 6600GT. Would there be a big reason to go to these rather than the 6600gt's for an sli set-up? They are at least $75 to $100 cheaper than the 6800 gt's.
Can the 6800 regular be made any faster?
 
not 100% sure about this, but I think you can get better higher end performance on the 6800's than the 6600gt's. and better low end with the 6600gt's
