I recently purchased a 6800 AGP to use in my XP2800+ system (MSI K7N2DL board), and I have been noticing quite a bit of system noise when I am running 3D applications and when scrolling in Windows (especially with IE, but turning off smooth scrolling did help somewhat). The noise is electronic, not mechanical, and it comes through my speakers. The noise isn't a constant pitch, and it seems to change depending on what is being displayed on the screen and how fast things are moving. My power supply is an Antec 350 TrueBlue, and when I monitor the +12V rail (when in Windows or running a 3D application) I am getting a constant +11.80 - +11.86V, scrolling or not. I know noise was a problem with some of the 5xxx series cards, but I haven't seen much with respect to the 6800 cards. Could this be a power supply issue? Could it be noise from a case fan? I do have the card connected to a molex connecter from the power supply that isn't connected to anything else.
