6800 makes beeping noises on shut down

It makes a series of beeps whenever I shut down. I just installed the NV5 silencer. I was very careful with the memory and not letting the ceramique get on the sides. The hardware was the same as before and it didn't make any beeps until I installed. I also tried switching video cards and there were no beeps on shut down. Should this be a cause for concern?

Should I try a VERY thorough cleaning? Try the stock thermal compound? Is there anything I can do at all?

*EDIT* My friend who had a 9600XT told me that when he switched heatsinks, he also got these beeps. Then his video card eventually died on him... Not sure if the 2 are related or not.

*EDIT* I get artifacts in games. Now I'm gonna need to fix this if possible...

Merry Christmas and thanks for any feedback...

merry christmas to you as well...are you sure its the card that is beeping, not the mobo? either way, i would reinstall the nv5, taking painstaking care with everything you touch. this shouldn't really be neccessary, but i suppose in your case it is. indeed, clean up the card as best you can. oddly enough, the nice thing about ceramique is that it is nonconductive, so it shouln't be an issue if some oozes down the side of the mem banks. clean it off just to be safe.

about that nv5...how are your temps now? could this be caused by a faulty installation of the cooler?

Video cards beep? There would have to be a small piezo electric speaker on it or something... prolly yer motherboard.
