I'm having a offer to buy a Leadtek Nvida 6800LE gfx card.

The owner claims it has been modified with a
AC NV Silencer 5
from 8 pipelines 300 core / 350 mem
to 12 pipelines 350 core / 400 mem

Can that be true and does it performs as a normal 6800.

I have no reason to doubt the seller, I just would like to hear if what he thinks is correct really can be correct 🙂

For $250, buy an actual 6800. Then you have a chance to make it 16 pipes and OC it even more.

Yup, vanilla 6800 goes for only $250 on outpost.com for the BFG 6800 OC. Also the PNY 6800 has been on sale a couple times for $199 at CompUSA. So $250 sounds like a bit much for a used, modded 6800LE since the warranty is pretty much thrown out the window because of the modded BIOS.

It's possible through messing with some stuff on the board to turn it into a 6800 with 16 pipes, 6 vs, and still oc it. It involves redirecting some connectors on the board or something and flashing the bios.
