6800 + LCD = not all resolutions recognized in games

I have a 6800OC that does not pick up all the available resolutions in like 85% of my games. The only work around I know of is to hook up the analog DSUB cable to the LCD and switch over to analog, start up each game, set it to 1280 then switch back to DVI. This is a bit annoing to say the least. I've tried creating custom resolutions and that doesn't work. With that said, anyone know of a fix for this???

Do you have the monitor driver installed, or is Windows default driver in charge? That is about the only thing I can think of that might cause this.

In the control panel there is the ability to add custom resolutions(I know you said you tried this, so try again, it should work). Just add in the most common like 1024x768 and 1280x1024 and games should recognize them. This worked for me on Pirates! and NFSU2.

i got the fp1800 driver right from dell's site installed, but it didn't make much difference whether it or the default were installed. the games still wouldn't give me the res i wanted.

Neurorelay, which drivers are you using? maybe the ones you have include a fix????

same here, I just use analog. I cant really tell the diff betweem digital and analog on my rig anyway.

Dang, I would do the same thing, but I have my DVI/analog acting like a KVM between my computer and xbox. My analog plugs into my xbox video output and my DVI into my computer. Isn't there any work around for this problem for DVI users? I've tried setting a custom screen resolution to no avail.
