6800 GT Users: Post your O\C Results

I bought the MSI 6800GT card, what OC clock speeds would you recommend for stable and not too hot performance, I mean for now (untill games will require more) I don't want to push the card too much.

400/1100 = default ultra speeds

what's the point of oc'ing ur GT's?they r pretty good cards,all u can do is increase the core/mem speed by a few MHz.

The fact that most GTs overclock to Ultra speeds is a nice point...my Gainward GS came stock at 400/1000 and I can overclock it to 420/1200 - why the hell shouldn't I do it?

I couldn't tell you...I overclocked it right out of the box...I never ran anything at stock speeds...

I can see the difference. My stock speeds are 350/1000, I have it now running at 425/1220. Thats approximately 20% faster man, yes you can see that when you crank up resolutions and AA/AF settings.

yah, often a good overclock will buy you some extra aa/af or even a jump in resolution.

I have my PNY 6800 GT @400/1100 (100% stable never-ever any crashes or artifacts) and my system's overall graphics performance is better !! you see, even though my 3dmark is only ~12000, this means nothing as 3dmark03 does not measure overall gaming performance, just the GPU performance.

In aquamark, I get 61K and change, and 22250 in 3dmark01, and you can bet my frame rates are higher than yours in most games. Peoples, please stop relying only on 3dmark03 - as I said aquamark3 and 3dmark01 are more relyable in predicting overall gaming performance.

CPU: Athlon 64 3200+ @210MHz x 10 = 2100 MHz
RAM: 1GB Crucial PC3200 @210MHz x 2 = 420 MHz

dipshoot-man, my point was that even though your 3dmark03 score is higher (because your 6800gt run at higher clock speed), my real-world gaming performance is actually better as shown by the aquamark3 and 3dmark01 scores, as well as any real game benchmark.

This is because 3dmark03 is a sucky benchmark (and ugly too) which does not predict well the system's gaming performance, which is of course what counts in the end since people are buying video cards to play games, not run benchmarks so they can bragg about a score which is weakly correlated with gaming performance.

So this was just a public service anouncement to educate people about 3dmark03. don't take it personally.

hey im new to this forum, just overclocked my PNY 6800GT 442 and 1200. Everything runs stable and seems to be okay. I am using stock cooling plus two antec casefans rigged to blow directly onto the graphics card and some heatsinks attatched to the backplate of the card. Seems ghetto but whatever works =D 21606 3dmark2001se

Just got a Dual-DVI version of the XFX 6800 GT. Coolbits told me 424/1140 but I am running at Ultra speeds and very stable.

Actually the 410/1130 I was running was great in doom3. However, since then I have found i need to keep the memory down to 1190 to avoid artifacts on one shader in halo, and 490 on the core to aviod geometry errors in the moha demo.

22543 on 3d mark 03 with a athlon 64 3200 at 2.42Ghz and 6800gt at 400/1.1ghz

u must have AF or AA on or sumthing man

416/1120. Reading many of these threads, the core limit seems to be around 425 with the stock cooler. The RAM seems to vary greatly though.
