6800 gt temp

anyone come across a great way to get accurate reading of temp on your 6800 gt?
I've noticed, through using temp probes that there is a big difference between different placements on the card...?

Search / ask in Video.

Some manufacturers build a thermal sensor into their cards, but many don't. So you might check first to see if your card has one.

I use a 6800 GT...I just use the NVidia temperature monitor...you should have it if you have the latest software/drivers bundle..

OK! got it!
But, I bet I can find a higher temp somewhere on the card...

why would you care/want to though? As long as you're not right up at the ceiling for temperature you should be fine..what's yours running at? I"ll compare it to mine

take the heatsink off and tape a temperature probe onto the gpu die. that'll get you higher temps. remember to throw the heatsink away, that just lowers the temps!!

my speedfan reads vcard temps 🙂

local temp = vcard ambient
remote temp = vcard core
