6800 GT OC question

I just got this card today, without a PCI-E 6pin adapter.

My OCZ 520W Powerstream doesnt come with the native 6pin VGA connector, so there is no way to power my video card.

But I already setup everything in my rig.
But when i turn on my machine, everything boots and my monitor displays the BIOS?

My question is:"Can I install Windows and play games without the 6pin VGA connector?
Will it harm my video card, other components, etc..?

Thanks

No, your computer probably wont even boot without the extra power going to the card.

You ovbiously didnt read the whole thing...........

As far as i know, no, you will not be able to do anything more with it (ie, anything that puts more of a laod on it, such as games, windows, the internet) because while the PCI-E bus provides some power to the video card (hence, why you can use it in the bios) it does not have enough to power the card to its full, that is why it has a power connector

its not that hard to get an adapter and put it on (molex to PCI-E power adapter)

probably wont hurt the card, but you might run into issues while gaming.

actually i think it could, since its not getting the power it should be, it could put a strain on the PCI-E slot, or the pins of the card........ its better not to find out though
