6800 GT being seen as a 6800 series

I bought a PCI-E xfx 6800 GT. When I run 3d mark it classifies it as a 6800 series. One thing I noticed about it was kind of weird too. Where the SLI plug is on the board above that one the silicon plate is a steel bar/aluminum bar. Is that meant to be removed?
 
Just a suggestion, if you alreayd have a post open with the same question, don't open another, you'll just cause confusion and are less likely to get a response. I answered the question in your 3dmark thread..
