Got a 6800 GT coming my way. Right now I have Fortron 350 W ps. Should I, or do I, need to upgrade to a bigger ps? If so, how big should I go to? I have heard that they recommend 480W ps, but anyone else running the 6800GT? Thank for your input.

the 480w is a loose figure, and aimed at the more "generic" power supply mfg's. Your current unit will be fine.

Was running my 6800 GT fine on a 350W Enermax power supply so you should be ok with the Fortron - they make great power supplies. The 480W was a figure I think nVidia came up with so that it would ensure the 6800's would work fine even with crappy overrated power supplies.

I'm in a similar situation, but I have an Antec ps. If muzzy were to go ahead with this upgrade and hypethetically his ps wasn't supplying enough power to the card, what symptoms would his system display?...video problems, non-optimal performance, etc. Thanks!

Ditto here, I overclock my proc to 3.6GHZ, run a raid array, and three optical drives on top of that. All with an enermax 350 watt P/S plus I o/c my 6800GT to Ultra speeds with no problems durring games.

Thank all for input. Problem solved. My bro asked me to build him a new comp so I am selling him my 350w for $40 and bought myself the Fortron 530w, think that should be enough ;-)

As for vYktYm's question:
