6800 cloning image during boot

This is something strange, and not that it bothers me a lot, I'd rather not have it... I just upgraded from my Ti4400 to Leadtek 6800. Before, whenever I would boot my computer, up until the log-in screen the card would output everything to the primary monitor. The secondary one would either be blank, or flash with all sorts of cool colors :D Made me question my sanity once in a while, but that's a good thing...

Anyway, I installed this 6800 and the first boot was perfect, image only on the primary monitor and secondary is blank... Now, however, what it does is show the exact same image on both monitors. I must say this is more annoying then those flashing colors. Anyone know how this can be changed? Now in windows I don't even run clone, I have DualView since both monitors require different resolutions and refresh rates. How do I stop it from cloning everything from post to the time the log-in screen shows up?

I'm pretty sure my 6800 does the same thing...as long as it's working once you're in Windows, what does it matter? How long is your boot time that you're worring about what's being displayed?

All 6800's do this from what I have seen (from 3 different brands so far) I had an Asus 4200 that did this also, but a PNY that didn't. I think it all varies on how the card's bios is setup. So there is not a lot to do about it.

Is it really that bad to see how much memory you have on both monitors at the same time? I acually like it better than having it on only one, and having a blank monitor.

With XP, you should probobly only have to reboot your machine once every 2 months anyways.

I dual on 2 19's with a LeadTek Ti4200, it does the same thing but really never bothered me. And like the other guy said, with XP, you shouldn't be rebooting but once every blue moon, so sorry bro but you're going to just have to live with it.

Yeah, its standard on the 6800's and the 9800 to do this. I don't know of a solution, but it shouldn't be that much of an issue, I'd imagine. Anyone with two monitors should check out Ultramon, though, its a great little program that enhances the utility of dual monitors.
