I hope they do not sign him. They tried to sign a former good player in Modano last year. It really didn't help the team. I felt it hurt more, especially in the playoffs. Would have been nice to get another forward up from the minors to provide some speed. All Jagr wants to do is gravy train a team into the playoffs.

Jagr is 39. Will turn 40 early next year I believe.
I'd rather have someone young and hungry out there than old and slow. Or you string him along and sign him after the All-Star game.

Yeah, no thanks. Although I don't think Modano is a great excuse not to do it, as he was hurt most of the season and then was kind of out of the groove of things.

Recchi is 43, so there could still be something left in the tank. But how much money does he want?
It's not about age (while kind of) but also about player attitude. Rumors are $1M with bonuses all the way to he wants a major payday.

If Jagr played any defense whatsoever, then maybe.

As for Modano... I'm sure he would've been an asset (especially playing the point on the power play) had he not had his wrist sliced open.

Is your third favorite Sidney Crosby or Ron Francis?

I am a Penguins fan. Bigtime fan. I like Sid and "Geno", lol. They have already won one cup and will probably win a couple more. But my 3rd favorite player of all time is Scott Stevens. I also loved my boy Stevie Y as well. I am a big Pens fan, but I just love hockey in general.
