A little melodramatic perhaps, but then again never in the history of mankind has the ability to number people effectively without which they could neither buy nor sell been possible until recently.

Chips: High-tech aids or tools for Big Brother?
To some, the microchip was a wondrous invention ? a high-tech helper that could increase security at nuclear plants and military bases, help authorities identify wandering Alzheimer?s patients, allow consumers to buy their groceries, literally, with the wave of a chipped hand.

Chipping, these critics said, might start with Alzheimer?s patients or Army Rangers, but would eventually be suggested for convicts, then parolees, then sex offenders, then illegal aliens ? until one day, a majority of Americans, falling into one category or another, would find themselves electronically tagged.

They could start with pedophiles first since who in their right mind would defend them, then let's move unto other felons since few would defend them either.

Let us also put them in children since who could be against the safety of a child, perhaps patients at a hospital to prevent medical mishaps.

Then we can say since it has been working so well let us put them in everyone and use it to keep track of our commerce, after all what better way to keep honest people honest, since if you have nothing to hide how can you be against this.:D

Revelation 13
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Speaking of number, nice post number 1000.

I've had many posts titled under Logan's Run and I get all kinds of hate.

Let's see who gets in line first to get chipped from those that called me out.

Ronald Wilson Reagan

The man has 6 letters in each of his names. 666. I think that says it all.

OP,

A free people are not a people dependant on being ruled. We are no longer a free people. We will not bite the hand that feeds us, if it wants to tag and bag us then so be it. The American people will allow a great deal of things so long as they continue to be given their dog biscuits.

You get all kinds of hate because your posts resemble those of an escaped mental patient. :D

As for the OP I always figured we are someday to be "chipped". They do it to pets already, and it can not be that far off before they start trying to use it on humans. I don't particularly like the idea. While it could make some things easier such as shopping or getting gas, I really start seeing "Equilibrium" as the end result.

I do believe in a required National ID card, with a chip in the card; but I am against any chipping of people themselves.

Then I say to that let them be tagged like their dogs.

Demo on how to hack/clone a verichip RFID tag.

Oh, and lest anyone get overly worried about drive-by Verichip identity theft: that is probably not a big deal. Their biggest security feature is the absurdly short read range, which is restricted by the tiny antenna. As long as the user stays at least a foot away from any unsecured person or thing, there is very little risk.

I guess we shouldn't be taking the subway at rush hour anymore.

I am not worried. Since the chips are place in the forearm, not the hand or forehead, this can't be the mark described by Revelations. I mean the bible can't be wrong right? :) Yes you are being much too melodramatic.

I don't see this becoming mandatory. I mean you can still use cash for purposes many years after credit cards were being used.

Not many probably knew that the Bush family dropped the trailing e in the late 1880's. The curly on the end of their signature was undignified.

Revelation 13
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

By all intents and purposes the mark doesn't have to be on the hand or forehead, but rather from it. The other day I presented a 20-spot and the clerk asked me for two forms of id. I only had my license so she demanded I dip my finger on the inkpad and leave my print from my first finger on the top edge of the bill. But the reality was that the signatures didn't match so I'm lunky she didn't refuse the sale.

Edit: Is it April yet?

Fuck that. I'll be first in line for excecution if it were a requirement.

But it wont be. In our lifetime anyway. Just MHO.

All of this watching for the beast is moot anyway. If you believe any of the story, the beast will be who you least expect, when you least expect, in a manner you least expect. The beast will be someone who is universally loved and praised by the majority of you. Much like many despots throughout history when they initially rose to power.
