i have a 6620l i would like to take a peek in preferably without the use of a hammer has anyone taken one of these apart before? it appears to have 4 small tamper proof torx screws

i looked on google using terms like 6620l teardown, 6620l disassembly.

i haven't even been able to find any pictures of the internals

you'll be able to see (some of it) on the FCC site tomorrow

Internal Photos Adobe Acrobat PDF 217321 Internal Photos 07/18/2014 No Yes 01/14/2015 (date available)

do a search for PKRNVWMIFI6620 (Grantee Code "PKR", Product code using the rest of the characters)

https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

direct link (dunno if it'll expire): https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...0&application_id=939795&fcc_id=PKRNVWMIFI6620

wow that's neat! now that's just about perfect timing there.
thank you!

i would have thought all the fcc info would have already been finalized since they have been for sale since september of last year but that's less surprising than that its been out since september and no one has thought to take one apart!

the fcc info is finalized, but the manufacturer can choose to flag certain files as short-term confidential (this file) or long-term confidential (eg raw schematics, trade secrets)

they can also submit an update to add/edit files. You see such updates for the Z3v (search for "PY7PM-0742"), starting from july until october (when it was released)

the FCC site is one of the ways that people hunt for newly developed devices
