Won't let me login with my normal account, oh well.

Two similar systems, two completely different scores.

Anandtech

GamePC

Both are usin a AMD 64 4000, ASUS A8N-SLI mobo and other similiar components. Using same drivers, directX, OS... you get the picture.

So at 1600X1200 why are the two scores so different. 1.2Farcry vs 1.3 does not make that big of a difference, so I'm thinkin it's gotta be the quality settings. But that anandtech review just seems waaaaay too low. I mean I have a single 6600GT with a 3500 and I get better scores then they do with everything cranked in game. No AA or AF but they don't have it on either.

But I'm bored, so anyone find this fishy?

Fishy fish?

Weird.

Well I guess...

1)GamePC is using a timedemo on volcano, while I dunno about anandtech. Prolly a custom demo or something. Although I heard that the volcano thing was the most demanding part of the game. Not sure since I haven't played it yet *gasp*.

2)Ok I really only had one thought.

Anandtech's time demo probably focuses much more on some of the graphicaly challenging features of that level then the other timedemo does.

Yeah, I notice a variation in scores between review sites too. I would imagine the most graphical intensive timedemo will give you more realistic results of actual gameplay. Look at the comparison with other cards in the same test, that will give you an idea of how they perform relative to the others.

Yeah I just noticed that just now. But that is a pretty big difference. The Anand scores do seem pretty dang low.
