6600gt Fan isn't spinning

My MSI 6600gt fan isn't spinning, it's about 2 years old.. is there any reason that it might have stopped besides a physical issue? I took it out and there is nothing obstructing it.. it just won't spin. Should I just buy a new fan?

Thanks

Might be worth testing the fan header on the card with a multimeter first, although a new fan wouldn't cost that much either.

As Clandren said, fans wear out and this is most likely your problem.

See if there's a dust ball inside the heatsink where it's not visible. Or maybe the fan wore out.

did that.

Can someone help me find a fan for it? It's a 6600gt AGP so it's tough to find one.. 🙁

I just got it to start by flicking it, it gets up to a pretty high speed, then dies, but picks up again. Right now it's going at full speed i think, but it sounds different than usual, like its flicking something while it spins. I already took it out and checked it and blew all the stuff out soo I don't know what would be stuck in it

happened to me...rma'ed it, they gave me a new card. works fine...

i actually got a leadtek 6600GT AGP last summer and it died like 2 months ago.
