6600gt crashing problem

hi guys. Well i have a problem while playing Fifa 2005(which is not a graphics intensive game i suppose). I have a xfx ge force 6600gt,amd 64 3000+,msi rs 480 mobo,640 mb RAM. The problem is that the game runs fine at 1280 1024 reso and high graphics detail. But once in a while ,say 1 out of 15 times, the machine gets restarted after I finish a game and go on to start another(continue as in the menu). The error report says that the problem is with the graphics driver . I am currently using the forceawre 71.89 version. So what is the problem?Has it anything to do with the power supply because i am not sure if it satisfies the condition for overclocking? Any suggestions? This problem is currently happening only with this particular game.(HL2 DOOM3 PAINKILLER ran fine).

What power supply are you currently using? Uninstall the drivers and install the 76.44's. I currently use them with my 6800nu and haven't had any problems at all.

yes its purely a driver issue, don't relate everything with the PSU. U know ur answer, Doom III is running fine and Fifa is not.

But ur saying 1 out of 15 times, this makes me think if this is a driver issue or not.

If it is than it should crash every time.

Try updating drivers and install the game, this time on another driver( this im saying may be if that particular space on HD is bad, may be... )

Yes, it's definately a driver issue. This is why you must upgrade all your drivers when new ones come out. Go to www.nvidia.com and get the newest drivers and install them and get back to us and let us know how ALL your games are running.🙂

Thx 4 ur suggestions. But its very confusing what the newest driver is cos there are so many versions(as specified in the forum article). However for the last 2 days there hasnt been any such problems. I guess i have to keep an eye on it for a couple of days more.
