6600GT AGP Not getting enough power?!?

Hi, I hope you guys will have seen this before and be able to help me out.

I just bought a 6600GT so I could play HL2 and when I boot my system up, I get an message from the NVIDIA System Sentinel telling me that my card is not recieving sufficent power. It then tells me that it's automatically lowering it's performance to avoid a crash or system damage. If I look it the help files, it tells me to make sure that the supplemental power cable is properly connected, but the 6600GT's don't have a supplemental power connector!

Motherboard is an Epox K8RDA+ (nForce 2 chipset) and the PS is Antec 430W.

I see in the BIOS that I can change the AGP Voltage (Currently 1.5), should I try stepping that up to 1.7??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like it has a 6800GT or Ultra bios on it or something that is telling the videocard it needs more juice like the higher end models. I would RMA and get another because it should work at 1.5 not at 1.7.

Hi. My name's Chillum. Maybe I'm blind, or maybe I'm just dumb. Either way there was a molex connector on the board that I somehow failed to notice after taking out and reinserting the card three times.

Anyway, CASE CLOSED! Thanks Viper!

I guess my HL2 enthusiasm got the better of me.

Have fun gaming HL2 is really fun. I like shooting the dead bodies high up and watching them fall on the last level.

To nickv360: I paid 225 for the card from newegg. The prevailing opinion around here seems to be that if you wait a month or two, the price should drop to sub $200, however with all my vacation time coming up now, it was worth the extra money.

I wonder if the card has been returned after somebody flashed a different BIOS to it and it "failed" to overclock. In the control panel driver what is it recognizing the card as?
