6600GT/6800NU/6800GT

I dunno whether to get the 6600GT/6800NU/or 6800GT (PCI-E)

I want to play:
HL2
BF:1942 and Vietnam
A couple EA Sports Games
MS Flight Sim

I'll be running them at 1680x1050 (2005FPw)

Which one would last me until springof 2007?

I don't think any will last you that long at that resolution, but the 6800gt will give you the best shot at it. Plus you could get an sli mobo and upgrade to a second one later this year, when they have gone down in price a bit.

That's an odd resolution, I don't know if games will support it. Right now the 6800GT is the fastest and most expensive out of the cards you listed. Have you considered the X800XT PCI-E?

the games support, other people have said so

and yes i considered it, but i like the 6-series better

Try to find a good 6800GT made by bfg/gainward/evga/asus ect.. and overclock it when future games start to lag.

Overclocking/tweaking my 6600GT, I've increased my VST fps by +20fps at 1280*1024 resolution.

Gigabyte 6600GT

Flashed to the TurboForce version now running 580mhz core and 1250mhz memory watercooled.

I made a post about my discoveries about the overclocking ability of the new gigabyte 6600GT's but it was ignored..
