Price is not an issue here. However I don't want to spend 300 on a 6800gt. My PS is a 350w Antec running a64 3000 (skt 754) a 74gb raptor and 1gb pc3200 ram. Which would you buy??? Will be upgrading from a geforce fx 5900xt. I do not overclock.

Leadtek, IMHO

At $300, that's a good choice for an AGP 6800GT. Just make sure you have the room for it; the heatsink on the Leadtek takes up an additional PCI slot but it is supposed to work well. You have a good chance to get it to Ultra speeds with that card/heatsink combo.

The only, only reason to prefer the 6600GT over the 6800, aside from price, is if you're going to attach it to an HDTV via component, or heavily utilize the video acceleration functions that are partially broken in the 6800 series.

Get the vanilla 6800 and softmod it to an Ultra. Make sure you cool it well..

then how does this go to an ultra?

pipe mod. It won't go to an Ultra because it lacks half the memory and is only DDR1 though.

Its easy just download Rivatuner and enabled the pipes + Vertex shader.
This of course is not 100%.

Its around 50% after looking at a poll in the video forum.

If your going to get the card in hope of softmodding, It may, or may not work..

Either way, I vote for a NU @ $200.

I would highly reccoemdn the Gt though.

EDIT: nvm I see you made your choice.

Good choice btw.
