660 brand: Asus vs Gigabyte

The Gigabyte scored well in Anand's review, while Asus' offering was absent. I can find the Asus one here, coupled with Borderlands 2 which I plan to play. Any comments on its quality/perf? Or is it worth finding or waiting for a Gigabyte instead?

Specs in sig; one of the 460's broke so I guess I'll use the other as a PhysX card. Fits nicely with Borderlands 2.
 
At the same price? ASUS all day every day if you're referring to the DirectCU design. Gigabyte gets good reviews sometimes but other cards are ehh. I would not pay more than ~$9 premium for the ASUS though if the Gigabyte is comparable.
 
So long as you don't ever have a problem with the card, the Asus design certainly is nice. However there are a surprising number of failures on their DirectCU GTX 670... and my personal experience is that their warranty service is simply horrible. Not saying that Gigabyte is necessarily any better, but yeah... when I got my card back 3 weeks after sending it in and it was still broken after having been 'repaired' tech support didn't seem surprised in the least and wanted to try a second time.
 
Sell the 460 u still have 90$ ish get a Gigabyte Windforce 670
So few games use physx and it barely helps anything... Atleast from my exp with a Gtx 590 with 470 for physx ..

Yes that comes recommended. It's an open designed card, so it's pretty easy to clean and that's important imo. Not having to undo the heatsink.
Also it really runs very quiet.
The Asus tho is also nice and on sale now in this country for the same price as the giga (Denmark).

The Asus is a bit widermaybe 2.5 slots something methinks and maybe a worse choice for a SLI setup. Also to be considered again the Giga is smaller and blows the air out the side.

Between those 2 warranty and RMA service would weigh heavily on my decision. They are both good cards.

Looking at the Asus it appears that the backing plate is going to make it 2+ slots. Although I would recommend a board with 3 slot spacing for SLI/Crossfire, anyway.
 
The triple fan version was released earlier, probably based on the 680 design. The dual fan WF2 is a bit different; not just the cooling.
 
Depends the Tri fan = W3 it is a 670 on a 680 Pcb.

The W2 says it uses better power and has Binned memory.
