655 Max LS or 8SQ800

Is the 655 Max LS the MSI equivalent of the 8SQ800? Is the only difference between the Max-LS and the Max-FISR the lack of SATA, Gigabit LAN, and firewire?

Both are about the same price, which would you recommend?

I will let you know what the msi 655 max is like when i get it in the next day or so. There is a good review on the main page .

Thanks, I'd be interested to see how yours goes. Which one did you get though? There seem to be two (as with the Giga boards 8SQ800 and the 8SQ800 ultra). There is the MSI 655 Max-FISR and the 655 Max-LS which seem to paralell the Giga boards in that the LS is a stripped down FISR without the Raid, firewire, or gig LAN (am I right here?). I am also assuming the LS may be an A0 stepper like the first (all?) 8SQ800s. There's also a price diff too; $172 for the FISR and $119 for the LS on Googlegear.

I've been reading all the posts on the dual DDR boards and I am leaning towards the cheaper ones beacause;

Want: Dual DDR and 8xAGP
Don't need: Gig LAN, RAID, Firewire, and the Dual PS seems to have some probs.

I've got a P4 2.4b but I would like to leave the HT option open for the future too.
