A South Florida man may have a few more dollars to toss around at strippers after he won $650,000 in a settlement for injuries he suffered during a lap dance.
In 2008, Michael Ireland was poked in the eye by a stripper's spiked high heel when he got a little too close during a performance at the Cheetah Club near West Palm Beach.
The shoe of a stripper named "Suki" punctured his eye socket and broke bones around his eye and nose and the man has permanent double vision, his attorneys claimed.
Some would say that's not such a problem in the strip club.
The strip club decided to settle out of court Thursday instead of going through with the lawsuit and possibly paying more in damages.
"When this case was first filed, many people criticized it simply because it occurred at a strip club," said Lake Lytal, Ireland's attorney. "But we feel the $650,000 settlement goes to show that this was a serious case with serious injuries."
Lap dances for everyone! Or not.

WTF happened? Did she mule kick him in the face?

How does a heel puncture your eye socket, and break the orbital bone??

At least his eye works. Probably just one of his orbital nerves got severed. Nerve regen with stem cells is just around the corner.

I'll pass on that.

It might have been a lapdance, but given that it ended with him suffering broken bones, it doesn't sound like much fun. And no amount of money would make up for permanent damage to my vision.

he only got it in one eye, so does he see like 1.5 persons instead of double-image of everyone?

lol double vision is caused when the brain cannot adequately combine images from both eyes together...which is why it's double (two eyes).

Nowhere near a big enough payout. This guy must have also suffered some brain damage from that kick to the face. This could easily prevent you from working for the rest of your life, make simple every day tasks extremely difficult, etc. I'd be going for $20m at a minimum...

The way it went down (this is a local story to me and it's a bit sensationalized in some of the tellings)....

She was dancing on the bar, another patron grabbed her inappropriately. As she spun around while caught by surprise her heel clipped the defendant causing the damage.

The problem is most feel he had it coming just by being in a strip club to begin with.

I don't agree with that and this is the kind of thing insurance is for. This ain't no slip and fall, the guy was literally damaged.

$650k is a ton of dough, but so is never seeing the same way again.
