So Far I cant seem to find anyone testing Flight SimulatorI currently own a Ryzen 5800x and was wondering if a Ryzen 5800X3D is the best CPU for Flight Simulator and X-Plane 11 right now? Does the greater L3 cache size still bring a huge benefit in these two games despite the lower clock speed or are these two games mainly reliant on clock speeds and IPC with L3 cache size having barely any effect?
I don't think anyone takes them too seriously these days. Even r/Intel has banned them from their subreddit for being so obviously biased when they intentionally changed the way the calculated their benchmark scores to add more weight to single core performance because AMD had such a massive advantage in terms of core count at the time. I was hoping that they had a blurb for the KS just to see the comparison, but they don't have any write-up for it yet.
Intel cant get their act together in the Server Market Today because of the absurd ammount of cores that are required to be competitive.
I'm pretty sure "God's gift to the world" would appear in such a writeup.

That cant be real (will check after this post) !!Just for giggles, I decided to check out what UserBenchmark had to say about the 5800X3D. It's as good as I had expected.

While the golden cove core is strong, the way Intel has configured it, it takes a lot of power and produces too much heat.

Think they just ditched the idea after ADL officially launched. There is just no need for a 5900X3D or even 5950X3D because ADL is no threat for AMDs MT and efficiency leadership. The 5950X is still the best CPU regarding that. And for gaming the 5800X3D is good enough to compete while being crazy efficient against the competetion.Where is the 5900X3D from the original demo? I don't see it. Much less a 5950X3D.

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty confident that we'll see at least one SKU with V-Cache from the beginning.threat to Zen 4 since that won't have the benefit of V-cache for some time to come
Someone here mentioned that the stacking tech is not yet available for TSMC 5nm which is what Zen 4 is built on.Are you sure about that? I'm pretty confident that we'll see at least one SKU with V-Cache from the beginning.
Maybe, but there seems to be a lot of workloads that does not benefit from the extra cache and lower clocks, and if zen4 both has better IPC and 5Ghz all core boost, then it should not have any problems beating a hypothetical 5950X3D. I think AMD has been very open about where extra cache is beneficial: Large scale computing and various professional work and gaming. But they have from the start also showed that some games and and some software actually saw a slight regression in performance, due to lower clocks. So as a potential customer I find it very transparent and quite easy to see if it it is a product that would suit my needs.I'm more inclined to think that a 5900X3D or 5950X3D with a larger V-cache may pose a threat to Zen 4 since that won't have the benefit of V-cache for some time to come. Cache is king if most of the hot data resides in the cache. I doubt Zen 4 with even DDR5-8888 would be able to counter the benefit of a huge cache.

41% Faster Than 5800X and 21% Faster than 12900KS is a Generational+ Upgrade kind of performance boostIt is ~40% faster 😵

OK Boys, 5800X3D OC to 5.1 Ghz.. Let's see those numbers now..
