Well we know now how they will bridge the long wait to Zen4 on AM5 Q4 2022.
Production start for V-cache is end this year so too early for Zen4 so this is certainly coming to AM4.

Almost all by Ryzen's do 3800/1900 at 1T

You can't really overclock Zen 3 all that well to begin with. Sure you can feed it a lot more power, but the gains are minimal and not really worth the effort.

AMD had already given some actual results and we know that the 15% performance figure is already accounting for the lower clock speed.

But is the 15% performance gain on 1080p only or does it improve 1440p and 4k performance as well. Once you get over 1080p the newest CPU's are all the same. The other point of contention is what will intel release to counter any Zen 3 offerings.

At 4K you'll almost certainly be GPU bound, possibly to the point where even a 5600X or even a four-core Alder Lake won't perform any worse. 1440p is likely to be GPU bound for most titles as well.

The only thing Intel will have is the i9 model with even higher clock speeds that's been talked about before.

Anyone buying either is doing it just to have the fastest possible CPUs or because they play competitively and want any extra advantage they can get.

Intel bent over backwards for Apple and gave them 128MB eDRAM as recently as the 8th gen Core series but they refuse to remove the E-cores and replace them with eDRAM that would actually help gamers. Intel is all about forcing on everyone what they think is the right way.

Geardown Mode - allows the DRAM device to run off its internally-generated ½ rate clock for latching on the command or address buses.
ON is the default for speeds greater than DDR4-2667. However, the benefit of ON vs. OFF will vary from memory kit to memory kit. Enabling Geardown Mode will override your current command rate

On Ryzen, I have never heard of GDM, just the 1T/2T command rate. All of mine are verified at 1T. On my 12700F however, I was in 1T, but geardown mode over 3200 kicked in, and I had to lower it to 3200. It's a hard wall for Alder lake at 3200, but not for Ryzen, not sure the hard wall for them.

The memory latency is huge at 1333 but input delay is extremely low. Latency is around 80ns @ 1333, with my current 1833:3666 speed memory latency is around 55ns

EDIT: my gaming rig's highest IF stable speed is 3733 (5800X)

Well, like I did with my Alder lake, I will have to do more testing. What is the easiest way to tell if its in gear down mode ???? I always thought CPUZ was king, but it did not show it for Alder lake, I had to run benchmarks. And after this ignore my comments that they all run 3800/1900. Yes it's being used. You can tell the difference when gaming right away between 1T GDM disabled vs 1T GDM enabled.

On Linux I wouldn't know. I never looked to see if Zen Timings works on Linux, but with your Windows box Zen Timings says it's enabled. I highlighted mine in Red. Or you can use Ryzen Calculator 1.7.3 and look under the MEMBench tab and it'll list all your timings and GDM. I'd imagine doing a TM5 test you'll finish a cycle sooner with GDM Disabled 1T vs GDM Enabled 1T. My entire desktop responsiveness on my Dark Hero is much quicker/snappier when I run 1T GDM disabled, also.

Also your FCLK is 1800 while your MCLK and UCLK 1600. Did you set those that way or is that the XMP profile that's doing that?

Whoa! I just realized you're running 3200. Is VSOC @ 1.175v what 4x8 needs to run stable at that speed? Did you TM5 test it??

It 100% depends on the type of the SKU itself and without information coming straight from the company, you could never tell - but that has nothing to do with AMD, it's the same with any vendor.
