Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant the mainstream P-core only I3 and i5, a segment that AMD isn't showing love to. With Zen 4, they might refresh everything from top to bottom.I mean, it ain't that good.
Where has this crap started from? Sounds like someone said Q2/April and it was repeated over and over again until it was thought of as fact.
H2 2022. They may be able to bring up to Q3 2022, but we shall see.
If this is true, AMD may be getting something else ready to counter Raptor Lake. If they have warehouses full of CPU's ready to sell, they are probably thinking, why wait? Let's demolish Intel NOW.
It's a rumour. I wouldn't take it for granted though. April/May is about when AMD should be launching a new gen product, but that doesn't mean they're gonna do it.
I mean, it ain't that good.
You have an inside source confirming that?AMD would have Zen 4 in mass production by now. They do not.

Rembrandt Splinter may cater to the 6-core and below segment but then they can't match Intel in pricing for the iGPU-less F variants. So if they go this route, they will still leave plenty of profits on the table for Intel.I think it's more likely that AMD will slot desktop Rembrandt into the 6c-and-below slots and reserve Raphael for 8c and higher.

It should be clear by now that AMD doesn't like to leave high margin profit on the table. Intel can get the quantity profit. So if they go this route, they will still leave plenty of profits on the table for Intel.
Ryzen 7 5800X3D is officially listed or presented on the AMD website.
I seriously doubt we are seeing Zen 4 in april.
You could even launch it yourself on that day!I bet you we'll see Zen 4 launch on the 1st of April.
A lot 🙂Will the L3$ increase help increase minimum FPS also?
Well they also suffer from much more limited production than Intel. It was one thing when they had nearly no market share and were struggling to sell there production. But they can't compete with Intel on high volume low margin, without turning a significant amount of their wafer allotment to these products. We are several years before AMD can up their allotment to the point where they can focus on low-end low margin components. It should be clear by now that AMD doesn't like to leave high margin profit on the table. Intel can get the quantity profit.
Its the same on Ryzen 9 3950XSaw this on AMD’s site for the 5800x3d:
Max Memory Speed
2x1R DDR4-3200
2x2R DDR4-3200
4x1R DDR4-2933
4x2R DDR4-2667
First time I have ever seen them publish specific numbers.
Except that I have 4 x 16 gig 3600 @ 3600 on multiple machines, so I don't believe those stats. However, at cl16, and some at 3200 cl14.Its the same on Ryzen 9 3950X
I don't think it's the ceiling but the floor. That the chips, all of them are rated to be able to run at those limits in those configurations. But it doesn't mean you can't run with more ranks/dimms at higher speeds.Except that I have 4 x 16 gig 3600 @ 3600 on multiple machines, so I don't believe those stats. However, at cl16, and some at 3200 cl14.
Yes, Intel will continue the king in quantity (the push for IFS 2.0 is mainly for ensuring at least that). The trouble is, for its leading processes Intel naturally wants to be able to command big margins as well. That doesn't work as well if competition regularly outperforms your best output on several parameters, except quantity. Though it does appear TSMC gives Intel some breathing space with N3.Well they also suffer from much more limited production than Intel.
