Yes, I bought one of the Transcend 64mb cards and I received it today. Works flawless in my Rio 500. Just make sure upgrade the firmware to 2.15 so the Rio will accept the 64mb cards. Also, from what I here the Dane-Elec works great with the Rio 500.

hey what's the difference between the transcend smartmedia and the dan-elec one then? considering either one of them for my nomad ii.

Does having a smart media card in your Rio 500 significantly decrease the battery life? I'm thinking it will because its another electrical component that requires power to be kept on. Anyone know?

heyyou, these are static memory chips. They retain their memory without power, which is why they cost more than standard SIMMs. You can pull them out of your camera/player/etc., and they still retain their memory.

Buzzard, there have been no upgrades to allow the Nomad II to support 128 Mb. Still max of 64 Mb.
