640gb vs 1tb caviar black speed difference?

I am looking for a hard drive for my OS. Will I see a difference in speed between these two hard drives? Either way im going to partition ~80gb for the OS and use the rest for data.
 
I would guess that the 1TB drive would be slightly faster but I doubt you will notice the difference. The platters are pretty close in density so the performance comes pretty close.
 
Do you need 1TB or do you need 640GB of data? Based on past experience, you dont' want a small drive because you're limited to how many devices you can ad, and even if you have slots, you don't want to cram a whole bunch of drives together in the tower. So if 640GB will be enough, get that, otherwise get the 1TB like I'm doing.
 
Well went ahead with the 1tb since there didnt seem to be a big enough difference.

Man I love craigslist sold 250gb for $40 and 160gb for $30

So for $50 I now have 590gb more space and a much quicker, quite drive.
