$6400 on top of a C5/Z06 makes a Viper killer

Lingenfelter's Supercharged C5/Z06

This latest LPE product is a supercharger kit for the C5 Corvette. Installed on a base 350-hp model, the $6400 kit ups horsepower to 490 at 6000 rpm and increases torque from 375 pound-feet to 480 at 4600 rpm. The kit is also available for the 405-hp Z06 model, but due to the Z06's freer-breathing heads, the horsepower increase is a mere 125, to 530.

I'd admire this almost more than a Viper! Which is sad, because the Viper of any generation is my dream car. 🙂

Hmm, Twin screw style... Wonder what their programming looks like... would love to see a Dyno also.

Edit: wrong name oops

Soon as I saw the title of the thread I knew it had to be Lingenfelter. He's got some very nicely set-up cars.

mere 125 hp? that's more then some cars.

they were prolly saying that cause many Twin Screw kits have a 50% gain in power, but being the compression on the LS6 being 11:1 (If I remember right) they only have room for a few lbs of boost. I can get 6-7 up here (5800 ft) off a 8lb pulley (9.5:1) but if I throw in any timing I have to run 101 or 104+ GT fuel or I begin to detonate . At sealevel the guys running 7-8 are running high octaine and some are using Water Injection.

ATI has a kit for the LS1/LM7 that they get 7 lbs but it's got an intercooler... Wish I had plubming room for one of those, but the output of the compressor is 3" away from the intake as is. :/
