I just received the specials from Newegg and they have the OEM version of the 1TB drive for $129.00/free shipping with the code in the email.

just ordered a 640 seagate from newegg. I think it's about same price there as well for the 640s.

Pretty good for local if you ask me. However, given my track record with my WDs failing, I'm gonna have to steer clear away from it.

$75 is the cheapest I have seen the 6400AAKS unless you count some cashback program or a limited coupon (This coupon isn't limited as everyone has access to it)

Newegg had it for that price once.

also means an easy exchange in case you get a dud. And for those that live in California, we usually pay tax anyways as the best deals usually come from retailers based/have presence in California.

I bought a 640 for $79.99 a few days ago at MC...this is a great price. There is tax and gas but your new drive is also not being shipped and tossed around. If it does turn out to be a dud just drive back to the store and problem solved. For something as sensitive as a hard drive I think I'd rather pick it up in store.

The drives have to get shipped to the stores somehow as well....

OEM Seagate drives from Newegg, I've been trying to read up on this? So do they have the 5 year warranty or no?
