Is the MIR from compUSA or the manufacturer?

In checking Pricewatch I see the 64MB DDR VIVO Radeon Retail for as little as $183 (no rebate mentioned) plus $9.95 shipping.

Personally I think it is a good deal, but I am waiting for the prices to drop even further as the new product cycle in Video Cards should begin really soon.

Add in shipping and applicable tax (as well as the fact that most here aren't 'new' customers or have run out of cc's :)) I think the CompUSA is a decent deal at the moment.

If you guys want the card, just go to the For Sale forum, and get it from HAWK, he has it for $165 shipped! Yes, the retail 64mb version!

or you can contact him via e-mail, Terry Yu [terryyu@ucla.edu]

I think his deal is much better! no need to hassle with rebate and at the same time save $.

Hmmm This card ATI or GForce 32DDR?

Which is faster? Better?

I've heard ATI has a problem with AMD Chips Or was it just the ChipSet?

Oh well... Or should we just all wait for the New Generation of Video Cards?????

Hmmm, What to do? What to do???

:)

ATI problems with AMD? I hope not. I have the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO running in a TBird 1GHz system. total compatibility problems or just reduced performance? I'd like to know if I need to replace the card.

Whoa, Davemeister! No need for hysteria. If you are running it and you have no problems then there is probably no need to worry. You can always run MadOnion's 3DMark 2000 and compare results at madonion.com if you feel there might be an issue with performance.

the Radeon 64 VIVO captures lower quality than the AIW? damn... whered you find this out? that sucks, i was going for the 64 vivo ESPECIALLY for the video in/out and big 3d performance... is there a review or somethng that says this? thanks!

dirtrock, I found out not only from posts on this board but also the obvious answer - ATI.com. Check it out. Also, what did you expect. This card is 64MB and the AIW is 32 yet it still costs about 70 dollars more. That is a huge difference. If the ram isn't the keyfactor, then that only leaves the capture capabilities. I find it hard to believe too since I wanted an AIW and thought the VIVO would be a smarter buy. Guess not.

If you want the Radeon 64 meg VIVO retail (fyi: OEM is clocked slower), just order it from ATI. It's $195 after shipping. If you send in an old video card, even an old 256 color ISA VGA, they'll give you a $30 rebate. So it's $195 upfront and about $170 after shipping the old card to them. The only downside is that their shipping is a little slow. Just go to ATI's website and go to the trade-up program that I believe is in the buy ATI section.

I've got in on so many "can't afford not to buy" deals that I can no longer afford to get in on "can't afford not to buy" deals. Or eat.
