64-bit Wireless Adapters

I have a Netgear WN111v2 USB 2.0 Wireless N Adapter. The Netgear driver installs on Windows 7 64-bit, but frequently disconnects and never shows more than 2 of 5 bars for signal strength, even though it is at most 20 feet from the router with nothing in the way.

I have a dual-boot configuration with Windows 7 32-bit on the same machine. The adapter never disconnects and always shows 5 of 5 bars for signal strength when I'm using it on the 32-bit side.

My conclusion is that even though it supposedly supports Windows 7 64-bit, it is not truly compatible. Are there any PCI, PCIe or USB Wireless N Adapters that truly are 64-bit compatible? While I'm at it, does anyone know of a similar device that is supported on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition?

It was a clean installation, there were no drivers to remove before installing. I installed from the download from their website instead of the CD that came with the unit and it doesn't work right on the 64-bit side.

The envelope that the CD came in has a sticker on it that says to go to the Netgear site to download drivers for Windows 7...

I was really hoping that more manufacturers would finally support 64-bit operating systems with the launch of Windows 7, but it still seems like those of us using 64-bit technology are on the outside looking in.

As trivial as it is, it sure beats having ethernet cables running all over the house, so I guess I'm sticking with Windows 7 32-bit.

HP and Dell sell many laptops with Win 7 Premium x64.

Find out what cards they use, buy a similar card and use their drivers.
