Well I recently got a gigabyte k8 triton ga-kevt800 and this is a 64 bit mobo and i was wondering if its possbile to put in a none 64 bit cpu in. I know this is a long shot but since i dont have 300 bcuks it doesent hrt to ask.

that's not a 64-bit mobo. it's a mobo that supports 64-bit cpu's. in other words, any cpu that fits the socket is fine. xp's wont work with it.

also, why not get an athlon 64 then? it's cheaper and faster then any comparitive P4, and since you already have the mobo, that's another reason to stick with the a64. the athlon 64 doesnt run in 64-bit unless combined with a 64-bit operating system, meaning that it currently runs in only 32-bit with windows xp.
